As a charity run pre-school, the staff are supported by a dedicated Parent Support Group who govern the Pre-school. The Parent Support Group work in close co-operation with the Manager, and staff and is responsible for reviewing policies, employing staff, fundraising and strategic decision-making.
Fundraising is one of the Parent Support Group’s most important activities and they raise funds for the pre-school in a number of ways including Summer and Christmas fayres, book sales, toy sales, cake sales etc. The money raised is used to buy new toys and much needed equipment for the children, subsidising trips out of the setting, entertainers at the Christmas and end of term parties and much more.
The pre-school depends on the continuing enthusiasm and participation of all parents. You can join the Parent Support Group at any time. We meet on average once per month and you can arrange to observe if you wish to get a better understanding of its role. Even if you are unable to join the Parent Support Group, there are plenty of opportunities throughout the year for you to help with fundraising. If, as a parent of the pre-school, you are interested in making a difference to the Pre-school, find out more about the way the pre-school runs and have your say in future decision making, please contact the manager, Patte.
